Come join the Friends of the Scio Public Library and local poet John Thornton as he reads some of his poetry and entertains with commentary on today's world.
After serving churches in Wyoming, Washington, Idaho and Oregon and following retirement John (and his wife Janylee ) are busy on their farm in Scio and John continues to publish poetry, sermons and reminisces of interesting people.

On February 1, 2024, the Friends of the Scio Public Library hosted an evening with author Bob Welch. We learned about his amazing adventures on the Pacific Crest Trail and had the opportunity to learn and ask questions.
